Sustainability

The path to success is paved with….

Here we are already at week three of January 2024! How are you feeling? We spoke about the New Year and going into it with new intentions, being excellent until it becomes a habit. In week two, we discussed that the journey is long and requires many steps. That is why it is also important to remember the road ahead; you know you can achieve your goals, and so do we. We are building that muscle so that we can flex it and show it off a bit, displaying our expertise and the hard work we have put in. Remember, habit comes from repetition.

It is no lie that any goal worth striving for won’t always feel like a walk in the park. There may be days you hold your head in your hands when something goes awry, but there will also be days when you are on top of the world as you see your steps moving you along your path. Momentum will build, and we hope you always remember to give yourself credit for that. One of the best and worst elements that show you are being successful in your Data Journey is what we call the “That’s amazing… but…”; this is how data projects work; when you are being excellent, others will not only reward you but ask for more. Always take a moment in these times to pat yourself on the back. You deserve it.

We all need a little support at times and being aware of when to seek it and how that can benefit us can be of massive benefit when it comes to sustainable progression.

Our point is that it is very easy to keep going on the good days, maybe less so on the not-so-good days. This is life, and sometimes there are curveballs. To help stay on track, make sure you have a “buddy”. Anytime you are improving a skill or activity, it helps to have a buddy; they will help you stay on track and help stop you from making mistakes. You may find your buddy in your own organisation, on a forum or community group, or you may even find your buddy in the gym.

So, whatever that looks like for you and your organisation, find your buddy to keep your momentum going so you are always practising excellence.
